• Minimum of 8 years experience in design leadership, showcasing expertise across various disciplines (e.g., OOH campaigns, digital, photography, potentially 3D/motion)
• Actively engage in the creative process, beyond directing, by creating compelling work that resonates with our audience. This includes web design, digital campaigns, photography direction, and potentially 3D/motion projects.
• Thorough understanding of Wealthsimple's brand and visual identity, with the ability to maintain and enhance it as the company expands.
• Proven track record of leading and mentoring design teams, focusing on individual growth and skill development.
• Strategic thinker adept at translating business goals into design solutions that captivate users and drive company objectives.
• Exceptional collaboration skills, with experience working across marketing, editorial, product, and communications teams. You excel in a cooperative setting and can establish strong relationships with cross-functional colleagues.
• Proficiency in design tools and software such as Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting and defending design choices to internal and external stakeholders. You can effectively articulate design rationale and confidently communicate your ideas.
• Experience in financial services or tech industries is a bonus, though not mandatory
• A keen interest in staying abreast of design trends, innovations, and best practices.
