• Seeking a seasoned Senior Environment Artist to join our dynamic Environment art team engaged in an exciting project using Unreal Engine 5.
• Striving to push visual boundaries, continuously enhancing work quality, and advancing creatively.
• Providing innovative solutions to translate concept art and research into optimized and aesthetically pleasing 3D environments, including level art and props.
• Acting as a proactive liaison between different teams and environment art to enhance gameplay experience, aesthetics, and ease of iteration.
• Offering feedback and sharing technical insights with team members regularly, from junior to senior levels.
• Demonstrating a clear vision of task progress in terms of schedule and technical approach, considering potential impacts.
• Adapting seamlessly between macro and micro perspectives to understand the team's and the game's production implications.
• Fostering a positive work environment within the team and undertaking additional responsibilities as required by the project.
• Possessing a keen artistic eye with a diverse background in art (painting, drawing, cinema, video games, etc).
• Strong technical skills to comprehend the performance implications of world building and prop creation.
• Excellent observational skills to understand the impact of objects on the environment and themselves.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on storytelling within scenes and props.
• Proficient in real-time editors like Unreal Engine and comfortable with procedural environment creation techniques (Houdini, Blender, etc).
• Previous experience working on released games as an environment artist.
• Familiarity with shaders would be advantageous.
• Capable of meeting deadlines, working independently, and providing regular updates.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative team player.
• Ideally, prior experience with various environment-related titles (props artist, lighting artist, texture artist, level artist, etc).
