• Seeking a skilled Lead Environment Artist to spearhead the development of top-tier, visually captivating game environments.

• Responsibilities include establishing quality benchmarks, mentoring junior and mid-level artists, and introducing innovative methods to streamline the creation process.

• As a Lead Environment Artist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the game's world-building initiatives, harmonizing artistic flair with technical prowess.

• Providing expert oversight, feedback, and direction in crafting intricate, premium 3D assets.

• Defining the architecture and upkeep of modular kits and reusable assets to enhance production efficiency.

• Supervising the construction and arrangement of expansive game levels to ensure they are visually captivating, conducive to gameplay, and optimized for performance.

• Developing sophisticated materials and textures utilizing cutting-edge PBR workflows.

• Ensuring consistency and scalability of material libraries for widespread team use.

• Guiding the team in integrating assets into game engines like Unreal Engine.

• Addressing and resolving intricate technical hurdles such as performance limitations, shader optimization, and memory constraints.

• Establishing and refining best practices for world structure, implementation, and final presentation.

• Setting the stage for the environment team to excel in delivering groundbreaking game art.

• Taking charge of a significant portion of world creation and steering world teams throughout the developmental journey.

• Mentoring and aiding environment artists by providing constructive criticism, training, and growth opportunities.

• Cultivating a harmonious and inclusive team environment that fosters knowledge exchange and innovation.

• Mapping out environment strategies, contributing insights on scope, resource allocation, and project timelines during planning meetings.

• Advocating for the artistic vision while balancing technical and production limitations.

• Documenting workflows, tools, and techniques to enhance team efficiency and ensure uniformity across the project.

• Collaborating with technical artists to refine and develop new tools, shaders, and workflows to elevate the art pipeline.

⛳️ Requirements

• A robust portfolio showcasing leadership in crafting high-caliber environments and technical ingenuity.

• Proficiency in industry-standard 3D modeling tools like Maya, Blender.

• Advanced expertise in texturing and material creation using Substance Suite, Photoshop, or equivalent software.

• In-depth understanding of PBR workflows and shader development at an expert level.

• Competence in game engines such as Unreal Engine for asset integration, level setup, and technical issue resolution.

• Comprehensive knowledge of optimization techniques including LODs, culling, texture streaming, and draw call management.

• Exceptional grasp of composition, lighting, scale, and narrative elements in environment design.

• Proficiency in modular design principles and advanced world-building methods.

• 4-6 years of professional experience in environment art with multiple shipped titles.
