📋 Description

• Seeking an experienced Senior Environment Artist to spearhead the development of top-tier game environments, ensuring alignment with artistic vision and technical demands.

• Responsibilities include setting quality benchmarks, guiding junior and mid-level artists, and pioneering innovative methods to streamline the creation process.

• As a Senior Environment Artist, you will play a pivotal role in crafting immersive game worlds that strike a balance between artistic flair and technical precision.

• 12-month fixed term contract

• Full-time position (37.5 hours per week)

• Fully remote opportunity within the UK

• Competitive salary based on experience

• Exhibit expertise in crafting intricate 3D assets, like buildings, landscapes, and props, ensuring visual coherence throughout the project.

• Develop modular kits and reusable assets to enhance production efficiency.

• Supervise the creation of expansive game levels, focusing on visual appeal, gameplay functionality, and performance optimization.

• Utilize cutting-edge tools like Substance Painter, Designer, and Photoshop to create advanced materials and textures following PBR workflows.

• Maintain consistent and scalable material libraries for team-wide use.

• Implement procedural texturing techniques to boost efficiency and quality.

• Assist the team in integrating assets into game engines with an emphasis on technical efficiency and artistic integrity.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical hurdles such as performance bottlenecks and shader optimization.

• Establish best practices for LOD creation, texture baking, and scene optimization.

• Mentor junior and mid-level artists, offering feedback, training, and career growth opportunities.

• Contribute insights on scope, resource allocation, and project timelines during planning meetings.

• Document workflows, tools, and techniques to enhance team efficiency and maintain project consistency.

• Collaborate with technical artists to refine tools, shaders, and workflows for an improved art pipeline.


⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated leadership in crafting high-quality environments and fostering technical innovation through a robust portfolio.

• Proficiency in industry-standard 3D modeling tools like Maya and Blender.

• Advanced skills in texturing and material creation using tools such as Substance Suite and Photoshop.

• In-depth knowledge of PBR workflows and shader development.

• Proficient in game engines like Unreal Engine for asset implementation, level setup, and technical problem-solving.

• Strong grasp of optimization techniques including LODs, culling, and texture streaming.

• Exceptional understanding of composition, lighting, scale, and storytelling in environment design.

• Expertise in modular design principles and advanced world-building techniques.

• 4-6 years of professional experience in environment art with multiple shipped titles.

• Familiarity with sculpting software like ZBrush for detailed modeling.

• Experience in VR
