Designer - Contract

📋 Description

• Contributing to ongoing projects that have established design & style guidelines

• Producing design for new features, pages, templates, improving UX

• Make adjustments to existing designs to accommodate ongoing client needs

• Producing assets for projects

• Work with project teams to understand client goals and project requirements.

• Propose solutions, collaborating closely with front end team and content team

• Perform QA on sites during production and post-launch

• Explain expectations around animation and motion, and show inspiration to communicate this to front end developers

• Working with clients to understand their needs, present designs, receive feedback, and educate on best practices

• Deliver proposed designs with clear and understandable explanations, in both written and verbal format, to internal team and clients

• Work and deliver high-quality work within strict budgets and timelines

• Contribute to occasional team brainstorming sessions to improve methods and processes

🎯 Requirements

• Strong understanding of UI/UX I standards and best practices and responsive web design

• Proficiency with design tools, including Figma and the Adobe Suite

• Strong understanding of web accessibility (WCAG 2.2 guidelines)

• A well-rounded understanding of web typography and design limitations

• Clear and effective communication through email, Zoom meetings and Slack

• Web animation skills are an asset

• Illustration skills are an asset

• Branding skills are an asset (creating branding from scratch or extending existing branding)

• Bilingual English/French speaker (native French an asset as you may be asked to review translations on occasion)
