π Description
β’ Perform conceptual design, including layouts, arrangements and construction drawings for the development and detailed design of complete systems, complex mechanisms, or assemblies.
β’ Original design activity will require full knowledge of design principles, drafting procedures and manufacturing capabilities.
β’ Provide Design, Drafting and Detailing support for the preparation of documentation for various mechanical engineering and tooling projects.
β’ Create part definitions, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 3D solid models, tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection.
β’ Update engineering data systems, product lifecycle management, and other data systems related to assigned projects.
β’ Utilizes in-depth knowledge of technical disciplines and analytical thinking experience to execute policy/strategy.
β’ Sharing knowledge in best practices of drafting techniques and 3D parametric modeling as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
β’ Uses experience with judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles.
β’ Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
β’ May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements.
β’ Explains information for developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within a field.
β’ Have effective communication skills within a teaming environment.
π― Requirements
β’ Associates in engineering, designing or closely related field.
β’ 6 years of experience designing and drafting in heavy industrial, thermal power, or nuclear industry or similar industries.
β’ 6 years of experience using design tools such as Autodesk (Inventor / AutoCAD / Vault) or equivalent CAD software.
β’ Inventor / AutoCAD / Autodesk Plant 3D / Revit / Vault experience in mechanical background.
β’ Advanced mechanical/mechanism design experience.
β’ Ability to create drafting details from 2D, and 3D AutoCAD, and Parametric Solid Inventor data bases.
β’ Functional knowledge of ASME/ANSI 14.5M, geometric tolerancing and other drafting standards.
β’ Understanding of manufacturing processes, fits, and fundamental principles of design.
β’ Experience interfacing with machine and fabrication shops, and parts procurement and testing.
β’ Experience with assembly, testing and preparation of associated procedures a plus.
β’ Able and willing to take ownership and responsibility for actions, and results.
β’ Self-starter with energy, positive βCan-Doβ attitude, and inclusive style.
β’ Proven track record of delivering on commitments, producing quality product within schedule in a fast paced and matrixed environment with multiple assignments and priorities.
β’ Adaptive, able to quickly learn diverse and varying organizational interfaces with professional astuteness and agility.
β’ Experience using communication tools and Office Suites of tools (i.e. Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
