Job Brief

The Art Director will build, lead, and review the creative team's work (print, web, animation, and digital design). Spearhead and manage design strategy for both small- and large-scale projects, harnessing strategy, digital and brand design, compelling content, and technology.

  • Collaborate with our valued clients in developing creative plans, analyzing results, and identifying creative opportunities.
  • Develop across client business units and create motivating, innovative, creative strategies. Analyze the team's quality of services, market trends, client needs, and competitive landscape to pivot as needed.
  • Meet budget standards by working with the Creative Operations Director.
  • Ensure the design team is producing quality creative work. Provide creative review and art direction for each project and direct the design team in all aspects of visual execution.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a cross-functional team of graphic designers, freelance copywriters, clients, and project coordinators strategically to develop creative deliverables.
  • While working with the Design Coordinator and Director of Creative Operations, prioritize work and resources across engagements based on short- and long-term needs.
  • While working with the Design Coordinator, establish projection schedules by collaborating with creatives, freelancers, and clients.
  • Conduct brainstorming sessions with the creative team.
  • Maintain strategic and creative thinking to develop innovative and actionable creative initiatives in a fiscally responsible manner.
  • Review and approve art developed by the team, ensuring deliverables that effectively address client marketing goals and challenges.
  • Produce fresh, innovative work that translates complex ideas into compelling designed materials and digital experiences for visually sophisticated audiences.
  • Present or oversee the presentation of final concepts and obtain approvals for deliverables.
  • Assign, manage, and execute projects with the team via Monday.com, Slack, and other communication channels.
  • Work with creative directors, designers, and other resources to help make the project successful.
  • Provide stellar client management and customer service.
  • Additional duties may be required from time to time.
  • Work with the Creative Director to brainstorm creative concepts for various clients.
  • Keep management informed about art direction, client needs, concerns, and other critical information.
  • Interested in creating process, documentation, and putting your mark on how we get creative done

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Creative Lead, Senior Designer, Graphic Designer or similar role
  • Portfolio of completed design projects
  • Hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Animation experience a plus
  • Willingness to learn new mediums - specifically Webflow, as this will be a crucial part of the company's growth
  • Must have experience in digital design, including website design from start to finish, presentation design (PowerPoint/Google slides), banner ads, and advertising  
  • Proficient in design software (e.g., InDesign and Sketch)
  • Strong aesthetic skills with the ability to combine various colors, fonts, and layouts
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with a team
  • Client relationship skills and management
  • Project Management
  • BS degree in Design, Visual Arts, or relevant field
  • Must be able to work remotely
  • Must live in the United States
