Remote Jobs
Location: Remote (Work from home).
Job Type: Part-time 2 consecutive days per week – with the potential to extend to Full-time (4 days per week – we don't work Fridays!) after the 3 month probationary period.
Probationary contract period: 3 months.
We seek a candidate who can demonstrate experience in producing designs for both print and screen. The majority of this role will involve working on website design projects.
The candidate should be confident in using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. A strong working knowledge of Adobe XD and using Wix Studio would be beneficial but not essential. We do not require the candidate to have experience in website development (HTML coding), but a good understanding of contemporary, responsive website design principles is essential.
They should show a keen interest in contemporary graphic and website design, communicate well with others in a team, and have a portfolio demonstrating keen attention to detail, an understanding of visual hierarchy, and a broad range of skills applications.
We seek a confident and articulate individual excited to learn and develop their skillset. A good manner, both via email and over video calls, is essential for this role, as you will be required to partake in meetings with clients, suppliers and internal colleagues. The chosen candidate should be confident when presenting ideas and creative work and humble enough to embrace internal and external feedback.
We have over 100 five-star reviews on Google from our clients. We deliver great work and customer experience, and you will be joining a team that is passionate about maintaining that great reputation.
We are a small, ambitious, female-founded creative agency. The ability to work to commercial deadlines is vital, as is good personal time management and prioritising high volumes of work in a fast-paced environment. We’re looking for a strong team-worker candidate who is confident enough to ask for help if they’re unsure about something rather than spending all day trying to solve a problem on their own!
We expect the designer to work from their own personal computer for the first three months. Once they have passed their probationary period of three months, we will provide them with a company iMac computer. Soka will supply Adobe CC subscription from Day 1 of employment.
The role is for two full days per week, ideally Monday and Tuesday or Wednesday and Thursday. The working hours are 9 am–5.30 pm, with a one-hour lunch break. We offer a generous holiday package that includes additional holidays over Christmas and New Year.
After the intial three month probationary period, we may be able to offer the candidate a full-time Junior Designer role, with a salary of £22,000. Please note, this role would be Monday–Thursday – we are a 4-day working week company and we are closed on Fridays.
What does the role involve?
The role holder will be required to carry out tasks that include but are not limited to the following:
Salary: £11,000 per annum. Reviewed annually. There is potential for this role to increase to full time (4 days per week) for a salary of £22,000 after the initial three month probationary period.
Incentives for further pay: 5% commission on invoices raised for any new clients that you bring to the business.
Applications: Candidates should apply for this position before Friday 6 December 2024 with a covering letter, CV and PDF portfolio / link to portfolio website by emailing Danielle@sokastudio.co.uk
Interviews: Candidates will be shortlisted for remote interviews via Google Meet with our Director and Website Designer on the week commencing Monday 13 January 2025.
